Good things come in both big and small packages! Brandi is pretty and petite and Casey is a like a big teddy bear, and together they make such an adorable couple! The sweethearts, who have been dating since 10th grade (aww!), were married on a windy, yet perfect day on the white sands of Longboat Key Club and Resort beach, and their reception was dreamy with splashes of color that perfectly accented the bridesmaid dresses and groomsmen vests and ties, and really set a romantic mood for the whole evening. Their flowers were absolutely amazing and guests were treated to the very tasty Jones Soda personalized with a cute photo of the couple on each bottle! We know Casey was worried that Brandi might run late for the wedding, but the stunning bride was ready on time, thanks to the help of her super fun bridesmaids! Congratulations Brandi and Casey!
Renee and Andrew had a beautiful and memorable wedding at St. Nicholas Greek Church in Tarpon Springs. The Church is nothing short of magnificent. If you have not been there you need to check it out… Renee and her 12 attendants looked absolutely stunning! The ceremony was very powerful and moving. You could feel the love this young couple shares and you could see it in their eyes.
The reception was filled with love as Renee and Andrew and their incredible families partied to the Big Band and Motown Sounds of Southtown Fever at the beautiful waterside Carlouel Yacht Club. The flowers were amazing! Everywhere you turned there were these amazing and beautiful arrangements.
Tracey and I really want to create and post more videos that will help our blog visitors plan their weddings. Our hope is to use our cameras to share tips and stories from some of the super talented vendors we work with every week. When Lori and Jessica from Simply Divine Events came to us with this unique idea of brining one of their inspiration boards to life we jumped at the idea. Instead of doing a traditional tropical themed wedding reception, Lori and Jessica chose to do an inspiration board that was a modern seaside reception. So they gathered up a very talented team of vendors to bring this modern Seaside Reception to life. The result is a beautiful reception that would rock and beach wedding! We filmed this at the new Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach on their incredible Sky Terrace. The terrace is located on the 16th floor with some amazing views of Clearwater Beach.
Michelle and Tony are as sweet as the chocolate bar that Michelle surprised Tony with on their wedding day! We were very excited to be able to share in their beautiful wedding day! Although Tony’s plans of getting ready on Clearwater Beach fell through because of crazy beach traffic, we think Tony and his groomsmen had a great time anyway enjoying some drinks and appetizers before donning their ultra-spiffy tuxes! Michelle and her mom and bridesmaids had their own bit of silliness as just outside their room a band was playing to a crowd that had gathered to enjoy an afternoon of music and games at the Blue Moon Inn. The newlywed’s day was filled with lots of sunshine, and their beautiful nuptials were followed by a super-fun party with all their family and friends. Congratulations Michelle and Tony on your wonderful marriage and on the great news that you are expecting a little Babbino! How exciting!!
One of the coolest things about blogging is the sharing of information and documenting our lives. Honestly, I read blogs all the time from the video and film guys I follow to the comments on TBO.com. However, when it comes to our blog we just share videos or projects we are working on while leaving out our personal lives and all the things do…the crazy and magical things that happen to us or that we take part in from day to day. I say this because I had a lot of fun recently hanging with Art! Art Polin is an innovator in the business of weddings and event film-making. He started the short form video 20 years ago. He has won Creative Excellence Awards since their inception and he has presented, taught and written books and how to effectively produce wedding videos, life biographies, Bar-Mitzvahs! He is just a wealth of information and a really cool guy. It came as a total surprise that he lived right around the corner. So I must say that during the last few days I have spent more time with Art than I have with my own wife. {sorry honey}
Tracey and I made this short “buddy film” as part of the 48 Hour Film Project 2010, in Tampa. The 48 Hour Film Project is the largest international film competition in the world. The project is a wild and sleepless weekend in which you make a movie—write, shoot, edit and score it—in just 48 hours. We have made several shot films for the competition and have done well in the past winning several awards. As an artist it is hard to be subjective about your work but I think the team (Leftover Films) really came together this year and we made something we are all very proud of. Tracey directed it and I produced, shot and edited the film.
On Friday night July 16th, we got a character, a prop, a line of dialogue and a genre, all to include in our movie. 48 hours later, the movie must be complete. Then it was shown at Channelside along with the other teams on Wednesday. 27 teams competed and 20 teams turned in a their film on time! Just finishing your movie is an accomplishment..phew!
Here are the elements we had to include: Genre “Buddy Film” Character – Diego or Dolores Florio, Tourism Worker Line of Dialog “That’s not what I meant” Prop – Bathing Suit
We got help from the very talented Khaled and Mariana of Kismis Ink as well as Erica and Katelyn from Occasions. My old friend Natalie Campisi, a working writer, came up with a brilliant script and we got an amazing composer Travis Abel at of Seattle who stayed up all night in Seattle scoring our rough cut.
Lindsey and Ben were married on a gorgeous afternoon in Plant Park at the University of Tampa. It was a very emotional ceremony (Lindsey had everyone wiping away tears!) and as witnessed by the highlights, the love Lindsey and Ben share is very special. The reception was held high atop the Vaughn Center overlooking the beautiful night skyline of downtown Tampa. Lindsey and Ben shared their 1st night as husband and wife in such romantic fashion. Each table was decorated with gorgeous centerpieces of bright colored floral arrangements and the table names were named after places the young couple have visited together. The table cards even included a short back story about each location. We were so thrilled to take part in such an incredible day. Congratulations, Lindsey and Ben!
We want to share Kristen and Ryan’s fantastic Wedding Day Movie Poster with you because we are so happy with how it looks! We loved their wedding colors so much that we wanted to incorporate, in the poster, the vibrant pink that that was an accent color throughout their wedding (including on their menus, lighting, flowers, and even the bridesmaids wore it as their shoe color which looked stunning with the yellow dresses!) The full-size poster was super cool and so much fun, just like the newlyweds!
Charise and Michael are a fun couple who also share a passion for baseball. We loved the awesome Rays groom’s cake, and several times throughout their special day, Charise was consoling tearing bridesmaids with, “There’s no crying in baseball.” So cute! The newlyweds were surrounded by many great family and friends who celebrated every moment of their special day. The reception decor was phenomenal thanks to the talented Simply Divine Events, with amazing roses adorning the tables, lots of sparkle, even cigar rollers to welcome the guests, Charise and Michael truly had a dream wedding. We hope you enjoy their lovely highlight reel!
Ashley and Michael were married at the very historic Powel Crosley Estates in Sarasota. They had a fantastically vintage “Great Gatsby” themed wedding and what better than to shoot it all on Super 8! We shot the couple’s engagement session with Gina Leigh in Super 8 and we really loved their style and we could really tell how much they loved each other. Their wedding day was perfect, with crisp, cool air, sunshine, many family and friends, and lots of fun!
Michael and his groomsmen arrived to the wedding in style via a really cool boat. Ashley and her bridesmaids were busy looking beautiful and finalizing all the details of her dream day! Tracey and I had a blast shooting on our Super 8mm film cameras. We were more than excited to share in the couple’s biggest day and to document it in such a timeless way! Congrats you guys!
