We are proud to announce that Tampa Wonderworks Films has been rated by local brides and voted The Knot Best of Weddings 2012 Pick. We truly have the best couples who are as passionate about wedding filmmaking and wedding video as we are. We are so happy to have met so many wonderful couples and to build so many friendships. We also have some of the best wedding pros in the industry right here in the Tampa Bay area and it helps to have such great people in our lives recommending us and referring us to such great couples. Thanks to our clients and friends for making 2011 such a successful (and super fun) year!

Tampa Wonderworks Films – The Knot Best of Weddings 2012 Pick
kirsten {and} john // 16mm + HD // Deering Estate, Miami
Derring Estate at Cutler was the perfect location for their destination (non-destination -we’ll explain in a moment) wedding. This grand location was also absolutely delicious to shoot not only HD but 16mm film, which we did! Kirsten wanted a wedding that wasn’t quite traditional. While living in Ohio, the couple chose the gorgeous location for an exciting destination wedding for all the family and friends to attend. Randomly enough, months before the wedding, John’s career moved him to none other than Ft. Myers, making their destination wedding a little closer to home! How random, right? Family and friends were certainly in for a treat with the weather being nothing less than incredible! You can say the wedding day is in all the little details and Kirsten and John did a fabulous job with making each detail full of meaning – from Columbus, Ohio’s famous Jeni’s Ice Cream being served to guests, to the symbolic flowers (White Veronica in remembrance of my maternal grandmother, Veronica, Rosemary in remembrance of John’s mother, and Fern honoring my paternal grandmother, Irene Ferne) everything was very sentimental and special. We were touched by the newlyweds in their love for each other as well as for family and friends.

Bryan appears on “Daytime!”
Celebrating it’s 10th Anniversary, the 48 Hour Film Project is something that we have participated in since 2005 (remember Fugitive Hunters?). We believe in the project and what it offers filmmakers, therefore when the Tampa-St. Pete City Producer position became open this year, Bryan knew he wanted to step up to the plate and help local filmmakers. Knowing that this is a big job, Bryan knew there was one person who would perfectly compliment his strengths with hers, none other than Monica Varner, an amazing and talented Event Planner at Elan Event Studio and the planning and coordinating genius behind Tampa’s ever-growing Annual Gasparilla International Film Festival. After interviewing for the position, Bryan and Monica were chosen as the 2011 Tampa-St. Pete City Producers!
The dynamic duo have been working hard in preparation for this year’s Tampa-St. Pete competition, July 29-31! They couldn’t have been more excited when the lifestyles and entertainment show Daytime invited them on to talk about the project (Bryan called it the “fastest four minutes” of his life!). Check out Bryan and Monica’s television debut talking about the 48 Hour Film Project!
All the films the filmmakers make over the weekend will be screened at the Muvico Centro Ybor on August 3rd and 4th at 7pm and tickets can be purchased from the 48HFP website.
Christy {and} John // Highlights
We ♥ Christy and John! The newlyweds are such a fun couple and are so electric when they are together! Their destination wedding on St. Pete Beach was a dream with so much sunshine and warm weather, all the guests partied and celebrated all day and night! John, a talented musician even recorded with his band mates a beautiful piece special for the sweethearts’ wedding day (it’s beautiful!). Christy chose beautiful vibrant flowers in shades of orange, yellow and pinks that really captured Christy and John’s fun and joyful personalities. The new Mr. & Mrs. had their guests (and each other) laughing with their vows (John, are you still making the bed?) and the heartfelt moments of the ceremony definitely touched everyone’s hearts. It was a beautiful day and we were so lucky to be a part of it all!

TuAnh {and} Shannon // Highlights // Kapok Tree
TuAnh and Shannon had a romantic wedding at the ornate and beautiful Kapok Special Events Center in Clearwater. Flowers filled the room which was adorned with colors of plum and pale green. The wedding weekend began with the traditional Vietnamese Tea Ceremony the day before the wedding. TuAnh and Shannon’s families came together for an extraordinary ceremony filled with rich Vietnamese food, gifts, rituals, and attire.
The wedding was equally as powerful as the newlyweds exchanged emotional vows – TuAnh with tears of joy (she made us cry!) – and an amazing party to follow. Guests were treated to multiple courses of Vietnamese food, that were as spectacular to see as to taste. The MC for the evening kept everyone entertained with songs and other fun surprises. What a wonderful start to a beautiful life together!
