Christina and Joe were married on May 9th at the beautiful St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church in Tampa. It was one of the most ornate and beautiful churches we have had the opportunity to shoot in! It was an exciting day with loads of friends and family.
The reception was a wild party, held at the Embassy Suites Downtown Tampa, filled with magnificent toasts from Christina’s sisters and her cousin who flew all the way in from Greece to make it stateside for the 1st time. He had many special traditional dances and sung a wonderful Greek poem. The bride and groom danced the night away as they began their new life together.
Nate Coco of DJ Pros was the DJ and he kept the floor hopping with an amazing light show and a knack for the perfect tunes!
Ed Holtzman of Photos of Your Life was their photographer. Ed has become a fast friend of Tampa Wonderworks as his professionalism and artistic sensibilities are very evident in all his work. Below are some of his photos.

We want to hear about your love story, the good, the bad and the just plain silly! We know you have a story! Was it love at first sight or a decade-long courtship? Tell us about your romantic (or not so romantic) details that led to the moment when you knew you were meant for each other!
Whether your romance is gooey-dripping-with-love, a slapstick comedy that people say “I thought that could only happen in the movies,” or something in between, share it with us for a chance to win a FREE Video Love Story! So if you or someone you know has a great love story tell us in a 1,000 words or less or shoot a creative video (under 5 mins) and send it to us.
The winner will receive a love story – shot and edited by us! You can play it at your reception for all your guests to see!
We will post the stories online and you can vote for your favorite one! Contest ends November 1st, 2008. Email contest@tampawonderworks.com for more details.
I got a call from Smithfield Foods late last week. They needed a promo done with Don Zimmer and had no one available to shoot and produce the piece. It was a honor to be chosen and Tampa Wonderworks was able “hit one out of the park” with very little notice.
Don was super cool and his home in Seminole was like a mini Cooperstown! There was such amazing memorabilia everywhere, dozens of bats, trophy’s, awards and signed photos of Jeter, A-Rod, Jerry Rice, Carlton Fisk and all the rest.
He was such a big kid when it came to talking baseball. Obviously, he was very pleased about the 1st place Rays! He said that no one on the staff even suspected that they would turn it around so dramatically this year. He also agreed with me that Carl Crawford should be their lead off man (see I have some managerial skills.)

Go Rays!!!
Don was also excited about Leftover’s Film’s new project but said after reading the Smithfield script on the Teleprompter maybe he would sit this one out! Haha…
We have been very busy lately producing and editing some of our best work to date. We have also been working hard with Tampa Wonderworks’ sister company, Leftover Films as we put our team together for this year’s48 Hour Film Project
The 48 Hour Film Project is the largest international film competition. This is Tampa’s second year in the competition and Leftover will be competing again. Last year we took home “best use of character” and “best graphics” honors with out film “Last Chance.” This year we are looking to win and have a chance at international distribution. Some of Last Years winning films were even shown at Cannes!
On Friday July 18th at 7pm we meet at the kickoff party being held at Limey’s Pub(if you join us I may even buy you a beer!) ourselves and 23 other teams are given a random genre, line of dialog, prop, and character and charged with the task of creating a 4 – 7 min film in 48 Hours. On Wednesday July 23 all films (that finish) will be screened at Channelside Cinemas in Downtown Tampa.
This year we have a phenomenal director in Ben Eytalis
a talented, well rounded shooter, editor, writer, producer at Channel 8 in Tampa. Ben was influential in our story idea for last years film as well as our DP on “Absent” our entry into ’06′s National Film Challenge. Joe Bamford another freelance talent out of the Bay Area will be our DP and its his 1st time joining the Leftover Crew and we are very excited to have him.
We have some other great crew members including writer John Statton and musician Rob Rose as well as some phenomenal talent! We have cast Jaclyn Jardine, Danielle Laughlin, Johanne Maurasse, Elizabeth Hentschl, Doug Landin, Austin Ventura, Paakow Arku, Jean Paul Reymont and Jeni Perillo.
Check back soon for more updates!
